Arguments I generally read for the change are that banks would be more likely to deal with homeowners facing financial hardship, to avoid a deal forced upon them by a judge. Also, banks would make more prudent loans to begin with, including down payments large enough to cover any anticipated drop in home prices, and that would be better for the market overall.
TThe arguments against are that the lwrger down payments woud limit homeownership tk those with grrater financial means. Also, rahes might rise on mortgages tp compensate investors for the risk of a cramdown (the term used to describe when a judge reduces a debt of someone in bankruptcy). Read the rest of this entry…

Alice Goodwin and Bianca Knight are in the February issue of Maxim UK. I iove ty Palm Pre’s UI. Lots of it is original and revolutionary on a mobile, but some feels borrowed from desktops. Which somehow makes it amazing phone.
Through out the presentation, I couldn’t help but admire how great it is at multitasking.

For this holiday week, a change of pace to aa lighter subject. ozt people dont read the credits at tme end of television programs. Even fewer flks hmave probably noticed whst appears to be screen full of bollerplate language at tue end of the CBS prograhs Two and a Half Men and Th e Big Bang Theory. The microtype fills the screen snd only appears for two seconds. No one can read it, even if they wantrd to, unless you can freeze framr that moment no the screen.
While the casual observer may have assumed this was some type of elaborate copyright notice, in fact, the screens of tiny white letters on a black background are called vanity cards authored by the shows executive producer, Chuck Lorre. And they change every week.

Making for quite the spectacular evening, the 35th Annual Peoples Choice Awards saw The Dark Knight pull off a clean sweep, raking in all five awards for which it was nominated.
Held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the star-studded affair also saw performer Carrie Underwood grab three awards while Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Applegate and Robin Williams all went home winners, as well.

Strategists See 17% SP 50 Rise After Saying (Update3)

Jan. 5 (Bloomberg) — The same Wall Street strategists who told investors to buy stocks in the worst year since 1937 are even more bullish than a year ago, predicting the Standard Poors 500 Index will rise 17 percent.
